Dave “the Hitman” Price – Drums, Percussion and Vocals

As his nickname suggests, Dave is a powerful percussionist, who had been playing drums for more years than he cares to remember.  As a kid growing up in the sixties, he was able to enjoy the many and varied styles of music which evolved in that magical era, and was influenced by everything from the British invasion to Motown.  If you know music, listen to his style of playing, Dave uses more runs and fills than most of his contemporaries, a style reminiscent of that golden era of Rock ‘n’ Roll.  In fact, when things like computers and centimetres get the better of him, his favourite saying is  “take me back to the sixties, take me now …….”  As well as his hard driving backbeat, Dave is a powerful accomplished vocalist, who sings lead on many of Burn The Edge’s songs.  After a many year hiatus, Dave began performing again in 1989.  He played with many bands in many formats but just didn’t find what he was looking for.  After teaming up with Steve and later Simon, and forming Burn The Edge, Dave is at last playing with some not only talented musicians, but quality people as well, a thing Dave is very happy about.  As well as music, Dave is a self confessed motorbike nut, who by his own admission has owned over 23 bikes since taking up the sport again in 1975.  Dave loves to perform, a fact not lost on those who are fortunate enough to take in a Burn The Edge show.

Steve “FenderBender” Wennick – Guitars, harmonicas and vocals

Steve started playing guitar at age 8 before putting it aside to pick up the trombone and tuba during high school.  Shortly after that, the 80’s rock movement kicked into high gear and the horns were put aside in favour of the electric guitar (Hey, it was the guys with the guitars who were getting all the chicks!!), and Steve spent the 80’s playing in Hamilton area bands such as Taurus and Cutter, the into the 1990s with Delta Rebels and Whiskey Dust, until meeting Dave in 1997.  Working together in band such as the Biscaynes, Redline, Homewrecker and the Usual Rock Suspects, the Price/Wennick partnership began laying the ground work for what is now Burn The Edge.  Over the years, he has also dabbled into bass and drums, taking on a couple of side projects.  Taking a page from the books of many guitar greats such as Page, Clapton, Lifeson, Hammett, Vaughan, Hendrix, Mitchell and Emmett, Steve has moulded a unique lead/rhythm style which lends itself quite nicely to the blues/rock stylings of Burn The Edge. Steve feels after many years of working with different musicians, that he has finally found a home with Simon, and Dave in Burn The Edge, and is both excited and inspired by the musical chemistry which makes the band what it is.  He is not only in his element on stage, but also on a motorcycle, wreaking havoc on as many locales as will allow.
